Manager, Event Logistics (Scientific Meetings) - 1 Year Contract - Reading

The primary focus of the role is to lead and line manage a team of Meeting Planners and Meeting Coordinators responsible for all elements of delivering global pharmaceutical meetings including ongoing venue liaison, delegate management, print and AV coordination and budget reconciliation. The team’s primary focus is investigator meetings, both face to face and virtual meetings, as well as some smaller meetings e.g. advisory boards.


This will be a 1 year contract.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Line management
• Resource management including freelance resource and cost control
• Continuous improvement in delivery (updating SOPs, ensuring adherence, streamlining processes, identifying/arranging training, etc.)
• Maintaining quality and high satisfaction scores from both clients and delegates - ensuring corrective actions are in place for issues raised, ensuring lessons learned and best practice are shared across the entire delivery team
• Vendor qualification and management - e.g. air travel partners, DMCs, etc.

The role works very closely with the opposite number in the US and these two roles have joint responsibility for the global logistics delivery team.

Skills and Experience required:
• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications or healthcare/PR agency environment
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment
• Strong background in meetings management
• Line management experience
• Strong organisational, planning, project management and logistics skills
• Good leadership, presentation and influencing skills over peers, business partners, clients and associates
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external team members
• Flexible personality and a quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency and is adaptable to changing priorities
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
• Strong finance skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations and solutions based on this analysis
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability and proactivity
• Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation and leading and participating in global teams
• Collaborative team worker who creates a climate of cooperation and inclusion across all functions and regions
• Adaptable to organizational change and sets example by championing change
• Strong business acumen; ability to understand the interests of clients as well as of IQVIA
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
